I get asked about partner codes constantly. Same question every time: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
Nope. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code has no impact on spreads.
The code 128979 activates the bonus program. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. That's all it does.
How much do you get?
A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.
$2,000 gets you $400.
$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. That's for serious capital.
British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Top tier reaches £11,200.
Account minimum is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.
Finding the partner code field
During registration. Once you've filled in your phone number, you'll see small text reading "Have a Partner Code?". Click the arrow. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.
If the system rejects it, don't panic. Go ahead and register anyway. Reach out to your account manager first. Tell them you want 128979 applied. They handle this regularly.
The bonus has conditions
You need to trade a certain volume.
About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
Your deposit is yours. Take it out anytime. The bonus stays locked here until you hit the volume.
One thing worth knowing: the bonus adds to your available margin even when locked. This lets you take bigger positions. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
